I have a young family and spending long periods away from home was difficult. Then Sulmara offered me the opportunity to move onshore as a Project Surveyor. I would be based in my home town and working with people who were very good professionals as well as very good friends. It was an opportunity I couldn’t turn down.
This onshore role allowed me to utilise my technical knowledge while also learning how to manage clients and projects. Learning from, and then covering for, the Project Manager allowed me to take the hot seat on occasion, which was key for my development and was very much encouraged by Sulmara.
Towards the end of 2022, I was promoted to Project Manager, which has been a steep learning curve but one which I’m enjoying."
