An up-and-coming name in the subsea survey sector has announced the creation of a springboard for further growth in the APAC region by opening a regional office in Singapore.
Sulmara Subsea was founded in the UK in March 2019 and swiftly added operational hubs in Aberdeen, Scotland and Houston, Texas to its Glasgow, Scotland headquarters. With APAC identified early on as a key market, a regional presence was established in Singapore and this has now been cemented thanks to the opening of a permanent office in a prime location at Asia Square Tower, overlooking the Marina Bay and Straits of Singapore.
Heading up operations in and around Singapore is recently-appointed Regional Manager, James Hope whose innovation-driven approach to renewables and oil and gas, marries well with Sulmara Subsea’s commitment to driving higher efficiency and lower costs while reducing carbon footprint.
James brings to the role a wealth of experience and he will be expanding the APAC team over the next few months. He commented: “The location puts us right on the doorstep of some of our clients in the city and key members of larger maritime community. Being central is convenient for balanced access to the east of Singapore, where most of our suppliers are located near the main Loyang Offshore Base, and to the west of Singapore, where the shipyards and heavier industry is based.”
Sulmara Subsea provides highly specialised survey support services, as well as responsive, innovative and disruptive solutions across the offshore energy sector globally. With corporate headquarters in Glasgow, the company also operates from hubs in Houston and Singapore as well as a recently-expanded presence in Aberdeen, Scotland.
